| Project Overview | The SASA project aims to empower women and women-led organisations (WLOs) in the project area by strengthening their leadership and capacities in anticipatory action (AA) and early warning systems (EWS) for disaster risk management (DRM). The project focuses on fostering inclusive, gender-responsive disaster preparedness and response mechanisms, addressing vulnerabilities of women, girls, and marginalised communities, and advocating for resource allocation and policy changes at local levels. |
| Project Objective | O1 – Establish and Strengthen Women-Led Anticipatory Mechanisms: Build capacity of women and WLOs to manage early warning and anticipatory action systems, ensuring inclusivity and focus on marginalised groups. O2 – Promote Women’s Leadership in DRM: Enhance women’s roles in Community Disaster Management Committees (CDMCs) and Local Disaster Management Committees (LDMCs) to lead anticipatory actions. O3 – Strengthen First Responder Capacity: Equip women and WLOs with skills in humanitarian standards, first aid, psychosocial support, and gender-based violence (GBV) response. O4 – Advocate for Inclusive EWS and AA: Lobby with local government and stakeholders to secure resources and develop standard operating procedures (SOPs) for inclusive early warning and anticipatory actions. |
