In the quiet village of Karkach Karmaiya-06, Dewahi Gonahi Municipality, a young girl named Ram Dulari Mahato faced a pivotal decision. Her family, weighed down by financial hardships, needed her at home to help with household chores. Despite her love for learning and dreams of a better future, Ram Dulari was on the brink of leaving her studies to shoulder the responsibilities of adulthood.
But in the midst of these challenges, hope emerged when Ram Dulari’s mother, Rita Mahato, became a member of the “Sita Aama Samuha,” a women’s group formed through the USAID Adolescent Reproductive Health Project. As Rita attended monthly sessions organized by the group, she experienced a profound shift in her perspective, learning about the importance of education, health, and the potential for a brighter future for her daughter.
The knowledge and encouragement Rita gained through the project ignited her determination. No longer willing to let their financial situation limit her daughter’s potential, Rita made the bold decision to support Ram Dulari in continuing her education. She encouraged her daughter to return to school, despite the struggles they faced at home.
With her mother’s unwavering support, Ram Dulari found the strength to pursue her studies again. The USAID Adolescent Reproductive Health Project not only provided her family with resources but also empowered them with the knowledge to create positive change. Through the support of the project and her mother’s resilience, Ram Dulari overcame her challenges, gaining the confidence to chase her dreams.

Ram Dulari’s success is a powerful example of how education can transform lives, break cycles of poverty, and inspire a community.
Reflecting on her journey, she shared:
“These sessions not only changed my career but also changed the lives of many girls in our community.”
Ram Dulari’s words capture the essence of how one opportunity can ignite a wave of empowerment. Her story is a beacon of hope for young girls in similar situations, a reminder that with the right support, dreams can be achieved even in the face of adversity. Her journey, driven by her mother’s love and a community’s support, serves as a shining example of how empowering families can lead to transformative change for future generations.
