Project Overview:
Campaign Nepal is implementing the Sustainable Accessibility, Quality, and Governance to Education through Community Engagement in Rautahat project, aiming to address challenges in the education sector within Rautahat district. The project focuses on improving education accessibility, enhancing the quality of education, and strengthening local governance through active community participation. The initiative is designed to foster an inclusive education system that meets the needs of marginalized communities, particularly in underserved areas.
Project Objectives:
- Improve Accessibility: Improve access to education for children in underserved areas by addressing barriers such as infrastructure, transportation, and availability of resources.
- Enhance Education Quality: Focus on enhancing the quality of education by improving teaching methods, curriculum content, and educational resources.
- Strengthen Governance: Build the capacity of local governance structures, including school management committees (SMCs) and local authorities, to ensure effective and inclusive governance of education.
- Community Engagement: Engage local communities in educational planning and decision-making processes, ensuring that educational practices align with community needs.
Key Activities:
- Consultations with Stakeholders:
Conduct consultations with local communities, education stakeholders, and local government bodies to gather input on the challenges and needs of the education sector. These consultations will help inform the development of locally relevant strategies and initiatives. - Formation of School Management Committees (SMC) Network:
Establish and strengthen a network of School Management Committees (SMCs) across the target municipalities. This network will serve as a platform for sharing best practices, ensuring effective school governance, and advocating for improved education standards. - Drafting of Local Education Policy:
Collaborate with local education authorities, SMCs, and community leaders to draft a Local Education Policy that reflects the needs of the community and focuses on improving education quality, governance, and accessibility. This policy will guide local education initiatives and ensure sustainable development in the sector. - Capacity Building for Local Education Governance:
Provide training for members of SMCs, local education authorities, and other key stakeholders to enhance their understanding of effective education governance, resource management, and community engagement. - Community Awareness Campaigns:
Organize awareness-raising activities to inform local communities about the importance of education and the roles they can play in supporting and improving the education system in their areas.
Expected Impact:
