German Embassy and One Heart Worldwide Witness Flood Relief Impact in Rautahat

Gaur Rautahat, Nepal – April 24, 2025
Campaign Nepal recently hosted a visit from the German Embassy in Nepal and One Heart Worldwide to showcase the positive impact of their joint flood relief efforts following the devastating September 2024 floods.
The team visited key project sites, including Paroha Hospital, Bashedwa Health Post, and Gaidatar Basic Health Unit (BHU), engaging with healthcare staff and community beneficiaries. They also toured flood-affected communities in Katahariya and Paroha municipalities, interacting with families who received critical relief support.
With funding from the German Embassy through One Heart Worldwide, Campaign Nepal distributed essential relief packages, including winterisation clothing, kitchen utensils, and hygiene kits, to 700 pregnant women and recently delivered mothers across Katahariya and Paroha municipalities in March 2025. This critical support has addressed urgent needs for warmth, nutrition, and personal care in the aftermath of the devastating September 2024 floods. Additionally, the German Embassy has funded the renovation of water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) facilities at Bashedawa Health Post and Gadatar Basic Health Unit, which will significantly enhance access to safe and dignified maternal and newborn health services there.

The delegation was warmly welcomed at all health facilities, with staff and community members expressing deep appreciation for the transformative support provided.
In the meantime, Paroha Municipality Mayor Shekh Wakil welcomed the delegation team in the office of the Paroha municipality and presented Certificates of Honour to representatives of the German Embassy and One Heart Worldwide. This recognition celebrated their pivotal contributions to improving maternal and neonatal healthcare and fostering resilience in flood-affected communities. Mayor Wakil also delivered a heartfelt appeal for sustained partnership to further strengthen and expand local health infrastructure, ensuring long-term benefits for the municipality’s residents.
The visit underscored the success of collaborative efforts in delivering sustainable aid and building resilience in flood-affected communities.

Campaign Nepal extends its profound gratitude to the German Embassy, One Heart Worldwide, local governments, and all stakeholders for their steadfast commitment to transforming the lives of mothers and children in Rautahat. Together, we are building a healthier, more resilient future for Nepal’s communities.
